GMHA Meeting Dec. 21, 2010

Minutes of the November 16th meeting. No changes.

Need to have a new secretary. Eddie will be the new secretary.
Old Business - Music equipment upstairs is property of the Glencoe Skating Club.
- A note is going to ref in chief saying board approves for someone in penalty box for music.
Treasurers Report.
Bingo acct - $15,746.91
General acct. - $57173.77
Term investment - $71282.50
Women Hockey Game and Dance money all went into Misc. Revenue.
Hockey Pool money from last year may have gone into NHL Dream Draw revenue.

Guest Bob Pearson – has been having problems with people unhooking the server for the website in the arena office. Also having issues with the power being shut off to the server. The power issue has been solved but not sure who is unhooking the server. This is causing lots of problems for the website. Bob also wants dates of the bingos to post on the website. Bob Thirlwall is going to send April Glithero a note to send Bob Pearson the dates of upcoming bingos. Bob Pearson would also like to have more notice of ice schedule changes.
League Reports.
Shamrock/OMHA – Cindy Staels
- Meeting last week cancelled due to weather.
- Peewee rep team is playing DD from OMHA play downs.
- All-star game in January for Midget.

- Few games to be rescheduled have to be played by February 5th.
Local League Report
- Last meeting also cancelled due to weather.
- Next meeting January 11th.
- Playoff scheduling meeting January 31st.
- All coaches have to go.
Girls Report
- Another 4 girls added to the Intermediate Roster.
- A couple girls left to sign.

Stephen Campbell Bantam coach was here to find out about rescheduling a game.
Equipment – Scott
- Clothing dropped off today.
- 2nd order date is January 9th.

- More pucks are going out.
- Socks price going up only to cover costs.
- Haven’t heard back from OMHA about stop sign stickers.
- Embroidered stop signs are $2.85+ tax.
Ice - Nothing new. Extra ice is hard to come by right now.
Ref in chief
- Bantam LL game December 18th, there were no refs. The refs from the previous game stayed and did the game.
Budget – nothing right now.
Clinics and development. – Eddie
- Got a couple names of guys to call if we can get some ice.

Fundraising - Hockey pools. 97 pools sold.
Communications – Bantam coach situation with parents seem to be going better.
Coaches – Everything going okay.
Registration – Sandy, Cheryl and Scott going to form a Registration Committee.
Sponsors – A couple of sponsors to get money from yet.

Tournament – Local League
Tournament went well
- Approx $4-5,000 profit.
- Tyke fun day is February 5th. One team signed up so far.
New Business. – Still have travel mugs for sale.
- OMHA sent a package of wet wipes to hand out to younger kids.
- Curfew problems arising in the Novice Rep games. Getting curfewed with 4-5 minutes left. Tim Kunkel stated that it is good hockey to watch and it is a bad to see them get curfewed. There is extra time left after the Peewee rep games.
- MOTION by Bob Thirlwall. GMHA to give the arena direction for no curfew for Novice Rep games. 2nd Scott CARRIED.
- Bob Thirlwall is going to send a note to Ben Salomons (timekeepers) and Shawn Mooser (ref in chief) and note to have a 3 minute warm-up on the clock prior to the start of a game and to ensure that the refs are on the ice on time.
- Received 1 letter from a person interested in joining the board.
